Want to know the story behind this great couple?  Here, I'll spin ya a little yarn of true romance.

Skye and Jax first saw each other at the Cassadine auction, where Jax made quite an appearance, bidding highly on an item up for sale.  This, of course, got Skye's attention immediately, for Jax was both handsome AND rich, two qualities she often loved in men.  They first actually met the next day when Jax was over at the Quartermaine Mansion to visit Skye's cousin, Ned.  And, well, it wasn't exactly love at first site.

Skye wanted to enlist Jax's help in her revenge against Sonny but to no avail, Jax was not interested in anything having to do with his mortal enemy.  She used every trick in the book to try and get him to join forces with her, but he still wouldn't.  This didn't exactly get them off on the right foot. 

Later, Skye came up with a plan to snatch ELQ from under her Grandfather's (and Sonny's) nose.  This time she managed to persuade Jax to help her, but it took her stowing away on a plane to Louisiana to do so!  The trip to Louisiana was what really turned these two to friends as they bonded over a New Orleans breakfast and a horse named Ginger. 

Ultimately, Skye ended up taking ELQ away from Edward by getting her aunt Tracy's proxy and using it for the deciding vote.  This was a shock to everyone, except Jax, who knew the plan all along.  During all of this, the two became better friends and were soon fighting their feelings for one another.  Skye's manipulations to win him over didn't help.

However, on Valentine's Day, 2002, the two couldn't fight it anymore and shared their first kiss.  This later led to a V-Day fantasy by Skye and then a stupid plan to try and win Jax once and for all.  Yet the plan backfired as Jax realized that Skye had been playing him like a fool the whole time and the two faught bitterly.

A few weeks later, Skye's brother AJ got himself into a mess when Jax told Sonny that he was hiding his sister, Courtney, in his room.  Skye was furious with Jax for putting AJ in danger and the two were estranged even more.  So much that Jax wanted to cut business ties with her, so he gave his ELQ proxy to Skye's grandmother, Lila. 

Skye found out about this by Ned at the opening of Club 101 and confronted Jax about it.  She almost spilt the beans about her feelings about him but managed evade his questions.  This looked like the end for the two, but little did they know it was just the beginning.

Because AJ had taken Courtney to an unknown place, Carly locked Skye in a boathouse, writing a letter that said that she better tell her where AJ was hiding Courtney.  Unfortunately, Skye didn't have the information she wanted, and was therefore stuck in the boathouse.  She tried to get out by finding a trapdoor, and slipped into the freezing waters, swimming to shore.  But by the time she reached there, she was too cold and tired to go any farther.  Luckily, Jax happened to be there after visiting Ned and found Skye. 

He managed to heat her back up with a hot bath, and later, the two made love in the Lakehouse.  This began the road to where they are today.
